Draft — under legal review

Last updated: 23 July 2026

This page explains what Silk collects, why, where it is kept, and how to get it removed. Plain words, no tricks.

Who we are

Silk (سِلك) is a Kuwaiti business platform that connects buyers with factories, suppliers and specialist companies we verify in person. You can reach us any time through the channels on our Care page.

What we collect

Your email, if you join the waiting list before launch. Your account details — email address and account type — if you create an account. If you apply as a factory, supplier or specialist: your company name and type, your contact (WhatsApp or email), your description, and the commercial licence or legal document you upload. If you place an order: what you ordered and the delivery details needed to fulfil it. Technical error reports, so we can find and fix faults. Small cookies needed to run the site: your sign-in session, pre-launch preview access, and your chosen language.

Why we collect it

To tell you when Silk opens. To run your account and your orders. To verify businesses — in person, and against their official documents. To keep the site working, and to fix errors when it does not.

Where it lives, and who can see it

Your data is stored with the providers that run Silk: Supabase (database and file storage) and Vercel (hosting); technical error reports go to Sentry. Vendor documents are private — only Silk staff open them for verification, and no public link to them ever exists. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Vendor documents are kept while an application or account is active, or for as long as Kuwaiti law requires us to. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or the launch messages end. When you ask us to delete something, we delete what the law allows us to delete.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. One message through the Care page is enough — you do not need a form or a reason.

Governing law

Silk handles personal data in line with the Data Privacy Protection Regulation issued by Kuwait's Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA).
